Endocrine disruptors

Endocrine disruptors are chemicals entities that can interfere with the endocrine (or hormone) system in mammals and repTOP™ERE-Luc mouse model is certainly an appropriate tool to study the action of these compounds on estrogen receptor.

 

Detection of endocrine disruptors in food.

Here we highlight two studies describing how to easily investigate the effects of chemical entities in food on estrogen receptors, in vivo, using the repTOP™ERE-Luc reporter mice.

Endocrine disruptor effects on Central Nervous System (CNS) activity.

repTOP™ ERE-Luc mouse can be used as a tool to detect the activation profile of ERs in different brain areas, as described in the paper below.

The optical imaging of representative brains of treated repTOP™ERE-Luc showed the agonistic effect of E2 and the antagonistic effect of ICI 182,780 compound in different brain areas.
