Cell proliferation detectable in vivo only 3 days after treatment with a well known carcinogen like DMBA.






Treatment conditions:

- left ear treated with vehicle;
- right ear treated with DMBA (4mM).

DMBA induced increasing cell proliferation visible and measurable as early as at day 3.


With repTOP™ mitoIRE mice cell proliferation is monitored by photon counting in time in the same living mouse.

Immunohistochemistry

Staining with Ki-67 (a well known marker of cell proliferation) and cell counting hardly detects the proliferation induced by the topic treatment with DMBA at day 3.

Imaging

5 minutes imaging clearly shows that cells at day 3 after treatment with DMBA are already proliferating.


Imaging:

- better results with low background.
