Novel insights for hormone replacement therapies



Endocrine News in his June editorial underlines the value of our repTOPTM ERE-Luc mice for the identification of novel SERMS. Endocrine News reports on the comments made by international leaders in the field of woman aging over an article appeared in Endocrinology where the application of in vivo imaging technologies revealed the existence of a rhythmic oscillation of estrogen receptors relevant for the study of the efficacy of drugs for replacement therapies in aged women. The study, carried out by a research group of the University of Milan and Pfizer, repTOPTM ERE-Luc mice enabled, for the first time, the measurement of the effects of long term administration of selected replacement therapies on the transcriptional activity of estrogen receptor in reproductive and not reproductive organs providing a novel paradigm for the study of SERMs
