 TOP srl is specialized in the production of REPORTER MICE. These transgenic animals, called repTOP™ mice, are genetically modified and produce an easy-to-detect marker in response to specific biologic processes. The marker is produced in all the organs and tissues of the living organism, where the process is acting, and can be easily measured by in vivo imaging.
This enables monitoring physiology, pathology, drug or nutraceutical actions, toxic effects in the intact living organism.
This surplus of information, compared to in vitro methods, combined with the precision of the results and the easy experimental settings, will dramatically reduce attrition rate in the drug discovery pipeline, and offer rapid and more sensitive toxicological testing, while improving ethical standards of animal research.
